Bring your own device
Already own a GeekMagic SmallTV Ultra desk clock, or rather buy one yourself? Install the Miblo firmware on it from your browser and use Miblo as a status display for Claude Code and your other AI coding tools.
It's optional: you can buy Miblo ready to use, installed and tested (we ship within Brazil). Buy Miblo ready
Which device works
One model only: the GeekMagic “Ultra”, also sold as SmallTV Ultra.
- ESP8266 chip (ESP-12E/F module) with 4 MB of flash
- 240×240 IPS screen (ST7789)
- Out of the box it creates a Wi-Fi network named
GIFTV,SmallTVorGeekMagic
Other GeekMagic models (the SmallTV Pro, for example) and other clocks are not supported. Listings change: if the device you get has another chip or screen, the Miblo firmware may not work on it.
Before you start
- Use a 5 V / 1 A USB power supply. A weak phone charger, a laptop port or an unpowered hub can switch the clock off in the middle of the install.
- Replacing the manufacturer's firmware may void the seller's warranty.
- If you might want the original firmware back one day, keep GeekMagic's official .bin file. Miblo does not distribute it.
- Don't unplug the clock while a file is uploading: that is the realistic way to leave it unable to start. An upload that fails erases nothing.

The factory firmware has no room to take all of Miblo at once, so it takes two steps: a small installer first, then the full firmware.
Install it from your browser
Plug the clock into the power supply and connect it to your Wi-Fi through its factory portal: join the
GIFTV,SmallTVorGeekMagicnetwork and follow the clock's instructions. Note the IP it shows. On a computer on the same network, open
http://clock-IP/, go to the firmware update page and upload the installer (miblo-loader-…bin).The clock restarts and shows “Miblo installer” with an address
http://IP/update. Open that address and upload the Miblo firmware (miblo-geekmagic_ultra-…bin).The screen shows “Installing Miblo...”, with no progress bar. Wait for the browser to show “OK”.
The clock restarts as Miblo and shows a QR code (network
Miblo-Setup-XXXX). From here on it's just like a Miblo you bought.
- If the installer can't reach your Wi-Fi within 20 seconds, it also opens an open network
Miblo-Installer-XXXX: join it and use the address on the screen. - After the install, the installer erases the Wi-Fi the clock was using, so it comes back on the QR code. To keep the Wi-Fi, upload to
http://IP/update?keepwifi=1. - If an upload fails, nothing is erased and the installer stays up so you can try again.
After that
Install Miblo on your computer and pair the clock, like any Miblo. Later firmware versions come through Miblo itself, with the 4-digit code on the screen.
Miblo+ on your device
With Miblo+ you see the AI's latest messages, reply and approve permissions from your phone, from anywhere. It only needs a Miblo account; the device is optional, and a clock you set up yourself works the same.
Questions
Does the Miblo firmware work on any GeekMagic clock?
No. Only on the GeekMagic Ultra (SmallTV Ultra), with an ESP8266 and a 240×240 screen. Other models, such as the SmallTV Pro, are not supported.
Do I need a USB cable, esptool or to open the device?
No. Everything happens in the browser, over Wi-Fi, through the factory firmware's own update page. The USB cable only powers the clock.
Do I need Claude Code?
No. Miblo shows the status of Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot CLI, Gemini CLI, OpenCode and Cursor.
Can I go back to GeekMagic's original firmware?
Yes, if you have the official .bin file: Miblo's update page (with the code on the screen) accepts it. Miblo does not distribute GeekMagic's firmware.
What if the install goes wrong?
An upload that fails erases nothing, and the installer stays up so you can try again. What the browser can't undo is unplugging the clock in the middle of an upload; we can't support the seller's hardware.
Do I need to subscribe to Miblo+?
No. Miblo is complete on the free plan. Miblo+ is a subscription that adds conversations, replies and approvals from your phone, and it needs a Miblo account.
